If someone's at the bar and they run their mouth off to the wrong person long enough, they're going to get punched in the mouth and they'll have deserved it. It doesn't mean that getting punched in the mouth is their preference.

Democrats have a serious problem getting people motivated to vote. If their solution to that is to just stay the course and keep doing what they're doing, then they'll deserve to lose. That's not a statement of preference.

What? You mean they aren't well-meaning doofuses who just have such big hearts that they still believe they can bargain with Republicans in good faith? They're not actually ignorant of the kinds of policies and actions they could take to dominate elections and yet they still choose not to make those issues central planks in their platform?

I am shocked, shocked I tell you, to hear suggestions that Democrats are just controlled opposition.

They're not morons, they're delivering exactly what their big corporate donors expect. They only look incompetent if you take the farce they put on at face value.

And yes, I completely agree that they're much more preferable to overt fascists. Every single person currently being hurt by neoliberal policies will be hurt even worse under a Republican regime. I'm planning on not just voting, but also getting involved to get other people to the polls, too.
